The Detroit Auto Show recently wrapped up, leaving us with a few new and exciting vehicles to look forward to. One of these is the INFINITI QX Inspiration, the electric car concept model that INFINITI unveiled at the Auto Show. This is what we know so far about this highly anticipated car.
The exterior of the INFINITI QX Inspiration will stick with the luxury styling of the INFINITI brand with a Japanese influence. The design of this midsize SUV may still change before it is officially released but currently, it features a sleek and modern design with lines that flow into a grille-free front end, making it unlike anything else.
This concept car has small exterior cameras that replace the wing mirrors, likely to improve both the safety and performance of the QX Inspiration. Sticking to the Japanese-inspired design, the roof also features red cedar slats. The dashboard glass is made with gold-tinted glass and the entire design is completed with white 22-inch wheels.
INFINITI has designed the interior of the QX Inspiration based on the Japanese design practice of omotenashi, a word that is used to describe the unique Japanese approach to hospitality. Applying this to the interior cabin, we can expect luxury leather-wrapped seats that encourage passenger conversation with a series of passenger-inspired features. By removing the gas engine and placing the electric battery in the underbody of the Inspiration, INFINITI has opened up room for additional interior space. The lounge-inspired cabin will feature touch-screen controls via the steering wheel and a center console made out of marble materials.
We can also expect the latest technologies and safety features to be equipped in the Inspiration by the time it officially releases. The current concept Inspiration includes autonomous driving technology with features that can be controlled via the dashboard driver infotainment system or steering wheel display.
It may be too soon to determine what to expect from the QX Inspiration in terms of performance and power. What we do know is that it will have an all-electric powertrain, allowing it to compete with other luxury electric vehicles currently in the market. The electric powertrain will likely be paired with a battery power source and an all-wheel-drive system.
When to Expect the INFINITI QX Inspiration
The INFINITI QX Inspiration is a concept car. Concepts cars are often designed to test out the functionality of different features while also measuring public interest. Based on the current interest levels of the Inspiration, we can expect INFINITI to officially release it, or something similar, in the near future.
Additionally, the INFINITI Inspiration received the 2019 “Best Concept Vehicle” and “Best Interior” design awards from the North American International Auto Show. Unfortunately, there is no official release date as of yet.
The INFINITI QX Inspiration would take the INFINITI brand into the future. Although you cannot yet buy this modern-day mid-size SUV, you can come by INFINITI of Marin today to check out the current 2019 INFINITI inventory.
